The talk will begin with an explanation of the concepts behind Ubuntu and give a summary of the progress the distribution has made so far. This will have a global aspect.We will then talk about the formation of the country teams and the recent setting up of Ubuntu-BR. This will include details of how to participate in the community and how people can best contribute. We will finish off by talking about our participation in the development of a customized Brazilian Ubuntu and present some avenues for further development of this project.

"Ubuntu" is an ancient African word, meaning "humanity to others". Ubuntu also means "I am what I am because of who we all are".The Ubuntu community is being built on these ideas.
