My college and professional background is in computer programming, but since 2002 I\'ve been more interested in the legislative aspects of software freedom. Since early 2003, I\'ve been working within the EU legislative process to prevent the introduction of software patents into Europe. Other campaigns I\'ve been involved in have related to copyright and enforcment of patents/coprights/trademarks. I founded Irish Free Software Organisation in January 2004, and, after moving from Ireland to Brussels, I was hired full-time as Free Software Foundation Europe\'s Brussels Representative in April 2005
