Confira os detalhes da palestra que acontecerá no 7º Fórum Internacional de Software Livre, de 19 á 22 de Abril em Porto Alegre.

Koha is a Libary automation System, released under the terms of the GPL License. Deployed in over 40 libraries across the world. Developed by an entusiastic team from all continents.

We will introduce the migration to Koha from CDS/ISIS done at Universidad ORT Uruguay, in June 2005, what we learned and future thoughts.

Andres Tarallo

I hold an Analist/Programmer Degree From Universidad ORT. Working with Linux since 1996. Involved in the creation of the Local LUG (UYLUG http://www.uylug.org.uy) in 1997.

Since then worked as a consultant deployoing solutions based in free software, contributing bugfixes and enhacements to many proyects, among others SpamAssasin, Cyrus IMAP, Date::Manip (PERL Module) and Koha (http://www.koha.org). Have given many speaches about free software and technical related maters in local and interantional workshops, including FISL 5.0 (2004) and V Jornadas Regionales (Rosario, Argentina), in topics related to system managing, Spam Fighting and Library Automation.

Ernesto Silva

Software Engenier and Webmaster of Universidad ORT. Speciallized in Web development with Free tools and LAMP Platform. Has deployed many web sites in PHP, and PERL among other technolgies. Also work as a private consultant, for many local companies, proving free software based solutions.

Member of the local LUG (http://www.uylug.org.uy) for many years, has contributed lectures in software development and real time linux.
