The Free Software Foundation wrote the GPL to protect Free Software. But the GPL doesn't work alone it needs legal defense. FSF's GPL Compliance Lab Enforcing the GPL for years. I will discuss how the lab protects software freedom, and how you can protect the freedom of your software.

The Free Software Foundation wrote the GPL to protect Free Software. But the GPL doesn't work alone it needs legal defense. FSF's GPL Compliance Lab Enforcing the GPL for years. I will discuss how the lab protects software freedom, and how you can protect the freedom of your software. Legal technology alone isn't enough to keep Free Software free. It also takes diplomacy and strategy. I'll discuss the legal theory behind the GPL, and how a small organization can convince multinational corporations to comply with the GPL.
